Say yes to these dresses

Being that I am 30 years old (31 in a few days), I feel like I am always at a wedding, engagement party, or some kind of event where I need a really fabulous evening dress. Because I have high standards for the way I dress, it takes me hours to find the right outfit. In this post, I will share a few recent evening dress options for you of styles I wore to engagement and wedding parties. I will also include links to purchase them!

Evening Dress Style: Body Hugging

This stunning evening dress is by the brand Bronx and Banco. I wore it to an engagement party in New Jersey.  It is pricier at $550.00 USD, but sometimes you have to splurge on things you love! At 5 foot 1 with a petite frame, I wore a size XS and felt the sizing was accurate. The sparkling brown mesh fabric is unique; the images do not do it justice. The only negative about this evening dress is that the fabric is MODERATELY SHEER, and the body suit provided to wear underneath has a thong cut. To cover my behind more (I did not feel the thong cut was appropriate for the engagement party, LOL), I wore a pair of full-coverage skin-tone underwear over the bodysuit provided. Overall, I give this dress a 10/10 and cannot wait to wear it again!

styling tips: Pair this evening dress with an effortless-looking hairstyle, natural makeup with brown lip liner, minimal jewelry, knee-high boots if you want to look a bit forward like me, and a beaded or plain handbag (nothing with repeating labels).

Evening Dress Style: Boho

Something blue. I wore a show-stopping evening dress to the pre-wedding dinner of my friend's wedding in Ravello, Italy. This evening dress was beyond comfortable, and I received overwhelming compliments on it. Made by Australian brand Lidee, this style is called the De Luxe gown in cloud blue. If blue is not your color of choice, not to worry. It comes in several other colors! Beyond the evening dress, this brand offers mini dresses and bridal options.

Styling Tips: Wear this evening dress with a strappy, metallic stiletto, old Hollywood curls (which I would have styled my hair this way if only my Dyson worked in Italy), layer a few bohemian style necklaces, natural makeup, and perhaps a statement ring

Evening Dress Style: All Black Everything

As for the wedding in Ravello, Italy, I opted for an evening dress by Nana Jacqueline. I decided to try out this LA-based brand for the first time since I kept getting hit with Instagram ads for their merchandise. I ended up really liking the way the dress fit and LOVED the side slit that made me feel like Angelina Jolie on the red carpet. Although black was not my first choice to wear, the unique design of the dress was a lot nicer than anything out there at the time, so back in black I was!

Styling Tip: This evening dress had rhinestones on the skirt, which you can't see, so I paired this evening dress with mesh rhinestone heels, a rhinestoned Prada bag, minimal jewelry, and a red lip. I would have worn my hair blown out with a little bit of volume if my tools were working in Italy (which they were not, LOL).
