New York, New York

New York City will always hold a special place in my heart. Growing up immersed in the world of performing arts, I experienced Manhattan at a young age, attending iconic ballets and Broadway musicals with my family. Later, I pursued my passion for fashion at the Fashion Institute of Technology, located in the vibrant Chelsea neighborhood, and was fortunate to call NYC home for several years. There's truly no city like New York, and looking back, I realize how lucky I was to grow up just 30 minutes away (without traffic, of course!). In this blog post, I’m sharing my guide to the best of Manhattan—the most glamorous, Blair Waldorf-approved spots to stay, shop, and dine. With so many neighborhoods and attractions to explore, this post focuses on my absolute favorites in the heart of the city.

The Chicest hotels in New York City

  • The Plaza: The iconic home of Eloise will always be my favorite. It was the last place I saw my Mima before she passed. And there is nothing more spectacular than having a drink in Palm Court. PLUS they are dog friendly! My favorite New York stay.
  • The Whitby: For those who appreciate colorful contemporary art and design. The rooms are decorated with intricate patterns and unique decor. Plus their bar is always buzzing.
  •  Baccarat: Filled with endless crystal champagne flutes, this hotel is the definition of modern elegance. I appreciate the intimate bar area and calm ambiance.
  • The Peninsula: With one of the most glamorous addresses on Fifth Avenue, this hotel offers a prime location for shopping and entertainment. I particularly love their tranquil gym and clean, modern rooms.
  • The Lowell: A home away from home; I remember staying here as a young girl with my grandparents and being impressed by the many tvs in the room. If you desire a luxurious yet cozy stay in New York, then this hotel is for you.

The best Shopping in New York City

Here are the stores to hit in New York City for the most premiere-level shopping.

  • Bergdorf Goodman: my grandmother loved their Mac N Cheese at their cafe. Her favorite spot in New York!
  • Doen: The definition of luxe feminine style. Totally a Blair vibe.
  • SAKS Fifth Avenue
  • Chanel: I prefer their Soho location.
  • Wyld Blue: An upscale bohemian chic shop where Blair would probably get her Hamptons attire.
  • Sandy Liang: Attire with frilly bows and posh knits, a spot for when you need a statement piece.
  • Venroy
  • Prada: Like Chanel, I prefer their soho location.
  • Rockefeller Center: You have to see it if you've never been. I particularly love it around the Holidays. Iconic!
  • Treasures of New York City: If you want to grab a designer bag for less (and help give items a second chance) visit this magical boutique!
  • Guizo: Super trendy styles perfect for a date night.
  • The Row: My dream office attire. I love how classic everything here is.
  • Miu Miu
  • Cartier
  • & other stories: Blair on a budget, this shop offers European-inspired styles at an affordable price.
  • ABC Carpet and Home: My FAVE interior design store.
  • Brookfield Place: Fabulous shops in this modern mall.
  • Hudson Yards: A huge mall and entertainment center.

The best, most Blair things to do in New York City

  • See a ballet at the New York City Ballet or the American Ballet Theatre. Ever since I was a child, the Nutcracker has been my favorite.
  • In the theme of the performing arts, you can also see a Broadway Show. Nicole Scherzinger is currently rocking "Sunset Boulevard," which I would love to see.
  • If Blair were to work out, I'm sure she would do it at Fuze House, a super chic Pilates and Sculpt studio in Chelsea.
  • If the weather permits, there's nothing like a stroll through Central Park, one of the prettiest spots in New York.
  • Some of the best museums are in New York. Don't miss the MoMA, The Metropolitan, and the Guggenheim.
  • For flower lovers like myself, head to the New York Botanical Garden.
  • St.Patrick's Cathedral is not a place to miss. It's beautiful and was my grandmother's favorite.
